JOB DESCRIPTION

 JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for operation of the plant from control room desk in smooth and safe manner as per standard operating procedures and assist Shift Charge engineer for all shift activities and control the emergencies in the plant.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Accountabilities Key Performance Indicators Plant Operations:

· Responsible for control room desk operation of the plant and reports to Shift Charge Engineer.

· Responsible for safe plant operation- Startup, shutdown, normal operation, Emergency handling and Trouble shooting.

· Assisting SCE in complying requirement related to Permit to work.

· Responsible for maintaining /improving plant parameters as per AOP- Heat rate, aux power, Availability, PLF, reliability.

· Ensuring all defects are registered properly and liquidated on time.

· Logic changes/looping only after proper authorization from SCE.

· Responsible for recording all operation related activities including Log books, check list, shift routines, PTWs and logic forcing register etc.

· Responsible for training and developing field engineers for higher responsibilities.

· Adopts best engineering practices, systems and procedures, up keeping of documentation and records and well conversant with soft skills.

· Monitor Plant-operating functions in accordance with Operating Procedures.

· He is assisted by filed engineers.

· Any other specific jobs assigned

Health, Safety Environment Systems and Regulatory Compliance

· Maintaining stack emissions and effluent discharges within the limits set by pollution control board.

· Assist and coordinate for PTW system implementation.

· Implement and strict adherence of the different HSE systems and Quality standards, internal and External Audits compliance.

· No of Environment non compliance/ fire incidences / major and /or minor injuries

· System compliance

· Compliance to statutory requirements

Special Projects/Initiatives

· Effective Implementation of Business excellence initiatives- CIPs, KM initiatives-Idea factory, O&M community & KM sessions.

· BE Score

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Educational Qualifications

· Engineering Degree (Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation/Power engineering)

· Diploma (Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation/Power engineering)

Relevant and total years of Experience

· 4-8 Years of experience with at least 4 years experience in GAS Based Power Plants of above 100MW capacity and at least 2 years as a Desk Engineer for Graduate engineers.

· 7-11 Years of experience with at least 5 years experience in GAS Based Power Plants of above 100MW capacity and at least3 years as a Desk Engineer for Diploma engineers.
